Amiee Byrne (b. Australia) is a Los Angeles based sculptural artist working primarily in ceramics, occasionally opting for other mediums to achieve the most convincing results.

Byrne's creations are all rendered by hand, choosing to avoid molds, each piece has its own distinguishing features. The work ranges in scale but the concept of seemingly banal objects is a recurring theme; taking practical, often everyday objects, and giving them a new life. DYING BREED, Byrne's first solo exhibition, showcases the playful side of the ordinary. A sea of ceramic cigarettes are discarded in all the places one might find them; under a mop tucked in the corner, lost in a shag rug, towered in an ashtray, or nuzzled under a stack of tongue-in-cheek self help books like 'I've Been Meaning to Start Smoking'. For this show, Byrne has taken her imagined world one step further, partnering with perfumer Emily L'Ami to create a limited, to-theme scent titled Smoker's Kiss with notes of mint, smoke, and lipstick.
