Collection: Brendan Lynch, A Smile in 22 Parts, July 22-October 22, 2023
Working across a range of mediums, Brendan Lynch is known for his abstract graphite and aluminum on wood creations and his spray-painted universes on gallery walls.
Having grown up in Los Angeles, Lynch’s youth was a kaleidoscope of graffiti, animation, and pop culture. Conflating high and low cultural aesthetics, Lynch uses a variety of mediums, styles, and marks exploring the different ways you can inteact with the canvas. His awareness of the evolution of painting and how it's percieved through context, gives way to his manipulation of these works in their truest form, allowing the viewer to experience a range of mark making within the same space. Lynch has exhibited at Bugada & Cargnel, Paris; White Cube, London; Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld, New York, Thomas Brambilla Gallery, Bergamo, Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens, Garage Museum, Moscow and Deitch Projects.
